The Strates Émergentes Tarot: a Deck for the Digital Age
What if the tarot spoke the language of our time? The Strates Émergentes Tarot ("Emergent Strata"), created for Cardologia, rereads the great archetypes through the images of the contemporary world — code, networks, signals, digital mirrors — without losing any of their symbolic depth. Here are its 52 cards and its singular way of being read: in Light and in Shadow.
A contemporary tarot, faithful to the archetypes
Traditional tarot speaks a language of emperors, towers and stars. The Strates Émergentes Tarot keeps that archetypal grammar but translates it into the images of today: the Magician becomes The Coder of Worlds, the Tower becomes The Signal Tower, the Devil shows up as The Digital Shadow. These aren't gimmicks: each card carries the same underlying question as its ancestor — will, crisis, attachment — asked in the world we actually live in, made of information flows, networked bonds and screen reflections.
The structure of the deck: 52 cards
The deck has 52 cards: 25 Major arcana and 27 Minors. The Majors run from The Void Origin (∅) to The Resonant Thread (∞) — the numbering extends beyond the classic XXI, with a XXII, a 23 and an infinity, as if the tarot's journey continued after The World. The Minors fall into three suits of nine cards each: Flux ≋ (energy, movement, emotion), Nodes ⬡ (structure, bonds, memory) and Mirrors ◈ (perception, reflection, consciousness).
Reading in Light / Shadow
Here there is no "upright" or "reversed" in the predictive sense. Each card has two faces of meaning: its Light, the unfolded expression of its energy, and its Shadow, the same energy tightened or taken to excess. The Shadow is never a bad omen: it is an invitation to look at what's stuck. The Light of The Coder of Worlds is creative will; its Shadow is rigid control, creating without listening. Same card, same force — two ways of living it.

The three minor suits
Each suit tells a progression from 1 to 9: from the simplest seed of its energy to its vastest form.
Flux ≋ — energy, movement, emotion
Flux follows the life of water and current: it opens with Pulse (the first impulse, the heartbeat) and closes with Ocean (vastness, fusion, sensitive memory). In between, Wave, Torrent and Spiral run through every intensity of movement — up to Network, where energy circulates and becomes collective intelligence.
Nodes ⬡ — structure, bonds, memory
Nodes tell how things attach and organize: from Point (anchoring, the seed of structure) to Constellation (vast organization, global meaning). Along the way, Bond ties alliances, Weave builds patterns, and Archive keeps memory and heritage.
Mirrors ◈ — perception, reflection, consciousness
Mirrors explore consciousness looking at itself: from Reflection (the immediate image, surface truth) to Clarity (clear vision, the calmed mirror). Parallax shifts the angle of view, Double opens the inner dialogue, Abyss faces the vertigo of self — before the final integration.
