It's the line everyone looks for first, often with a little pang of worry: "what if mine is short?". Let's say it straight away, before we even begin: the life line predicts neither the length of your life nor your state of health. No serious study links its length to anything medical. What it does tell you is far more interesting — and far less frightening.

1. Measure the line. With a thread or a flexible ruler, follow the curve from its start (between thumb and index) to its end. Example: 90 mm.
2. Choose the conventional scale. Tradition spreads the line over about 70 symbolic units.
3. Calculate the value of one millimeter. 70 ÷ 90 = 0.78 unit per millimeter.
4. Measure the distance of the mark from the start of the line. Example: a small break at 26 mm.
5. Convert. 26 × 0.78 = 20.3 → the mark corresponds to the symbolic zone "around your twenties".

Concretely, if you lived through a real turning point around age 20 — a departure, a breakup, a change of city — the reading becomes a mirror: it names something you already know. That's where it is useful. It never becomes a prediction about what comes next: the remaining 40 mm contain no information about what has not yet happened.

On energy. Looking at your life line is above all about asking yourself a simple question: am I respecting my real rhythm? An energy that works in waves need not apologize for existing — it just asks for recovery windows that are planned rather than endured.

On work. A wide arc invites you to examine your need for movement: a role that is too static can weigh on you without your being able to name why. A tight arc suggests, on the contrary, that stability is not timidity, but fuel.
